Monday with the Mayor

Each Monday, the HBees listen to Monday with the Mayor on our local Lake Murray radio station. Mayor Halfacre discusses new ideas he has for the town, traffic plans, community outreach programs, etc. One of our standards in 2nd grade is learning about the community an local government. We really enjoy our time listening to Monday with the Mayor and emailing questions to him to answer. Check out Monday with the Mayor from 10:00-10:30am each Monday on Channel 107.9FM.

Career Day 2011

We had a wonderful time during Career Day 2011. The speakers who came in for our career day were wonderful! We got to meet a Saluda Shoal's Ranger, nuclear engineer, electrical engineer, veterinarian, social worker, and several law enforcement officers. We discussed careers throughout the week and we took a career inventory with Mrs. M-C online (www.mynextmove.org). Thank you to everyone who came to speak to us this year!
